Maria Araiza
Speech Pathologist | Clinical Director
Maria is a Speech Pathologist who supports children and adults to communicate, connect and participate in everyday life, as well as supporting safe eating and drinking where needed.
She works with children who are late to talk, autistic children and people with a range of communication, speech, language and swallowing needs.
Maria believes that everyone deserves a way to communicate and be understood. Communication does not always look like talking. For some people, it may involve gestures, signs, pictures, communication boards, AAC apps or other supports. Maria works with each person and their family to find approaches that are meaningful, practical and suited to their everyday life.
Her approach is warm, practical and family-centred. She works across homes, schools and community settings and enjoys helping parents, carers and educators build strategies into the routines they are already doing.
Maria also supports NDIS participants and is passionate about working collaboratively with families and other professionals to help people reach goals that are meaningful to them.
Above all, Maria wants the people she works with to feel heard, valued and empowered to have a voice in their own care.
